About the Library

The Beaverton SDA Church Library began as a Sabbath School outreach to provide donated books and magazines to the mission field. It was soon realized that the local membership could also benefit from these materials, so provision was made to setup a closet in the foyer to loan them to the church members and guests.

The Library has gradually grown until today it contains over 3,000 titles of books and audio and video media that it makes available to church members on a loan basis.

The basic idea driving the library program, is that those materials that have outlived their usefulness for the original owners may be a further blessing in the lives of the other church members by giving them an opportunity to read and study these materials without having to purchase them. Also, materials that are used collectively by the church in outreach activities are made available to members to review and study further for their spiritual benefit.

Particular emphasis is placed on materials that encourage and inspire our youth to dedicate their lives in service to mankind, and to develop characters that will fit them for heaven.

A significant portion of the library consists of materials that emphasize the special creation activity and the testimony of the wonders of the natural world as evidence of that creation.

The library also functions as a distribution center for sharing donated surplus materials with the mission field.

The main focus of the library collection is on religious study materials produced by our church authors and publishing houses, and is not intended to duplicate the extensive collections found at the local public libraries and Bible centers.
